Echo in Bloom 2005
The quality of entrants for
this years Echo in Bloom has again been outstanding and reflects the amount
of work and effort that people must have put into their gardens in preparation
for this summers bloom.
The presentation evening was open to all entrants and was well attended and enjoyed by all. Special guests included the deputy Mayor and Mayoress, Roger and Mrs Jeavons, Rosemary Butler, AM for Newport West, and Stow Hill ward Councillors Miqdad Al-Nuaimi and Peter Davies, not forgetting of course the judges and Newport in Bloom representatives. The evening started with a welcoming glass of wine before the winners were announced and the prizes given out. The overall winner, Patricia Murray, being presented a prestigious silver claret jug by the deputy major. The evening then followed with an informal buffet and a chance to chat to the judges and exchange gardening tips.
