ECHO StowHill ECHO Stowhill community website

Website Updated!

There have been a lot of changes happening with ECHO and so the website unfortunately has become a little stale. We've got Bridge Hosting doing some website updates for us; within our limited budget.

You'll see the majority of information has moved or been removed; if you need some old material from the website then please get in touch and we'll see if we can help.

Local Notice Board

Echo managed to arrange for a local notice board to be put on Yas' shop wall (St Woolos Wine Lodge) at the top of Stow Hill. If you have a local community message you want displaying then call the Echo team or drop into the shop and ask for details.

Gardening Time

The growing season is upon us again. So start preparing your gardens for the summer and get planting. Whatever your garden, hanging basket or container can sustain its worth entering it into the competition.

Echo in Bloom its not just about the gardening but also the lively presentation evening that every entree is invited to.

VE Day - 60 year Anniversary Celebrations

Street partyStreet partyStreet partyStreet party

Sunday 4th September 2005

To commemorate the end of World War II and the outbreak of peace, Echo Stow Hill Community Group arranged a traditional street party. Games and entertainment were complemented by an exhibition of photographs and memories of the time and a display of vintage vehicles of the period. Childrens games, a Tug o' War competition between local pubs, stilt walkers and face painting entertained the crowds while big band music and songs of the 1940's inspired many to join in a communal singalong.
